UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — YouTube has punished vlogger Logan Paul for his controversial “suicide forest” video.
Paul had previously apologized for posting a vlog on Dec. 31 from Japan’s famed “suicide forest,” Aokigahara, on his YouTube channel.
The video showed a person who is believed to have committed suicide by hanging in the forest.
YouTube’s official Twitter account responded to the video in a series of tweets on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
In the tweets, YouTube said, “Suicide is not a joke, nor should it ever be a driving force for views.”
Then on Thursday, YouTube announced it had removed Paul’s channels from its Google Preferred program, which connects advertisers with the site’s most popular content producers.
YouTube also said Paul will not be featured in season four of “Foursome,” and that production on other projects of his have been put on hold.
