UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — An Arizona woman suffers from a rare medical condition that causes her to speak in a different accent.

Michelle Myers says over the last seven years she has gone to sleep with a terrible headache three times and each time she has woken up with a different accent.

In 2011, she woke up once an Irish accent. In 2014, she woke up with an Australian accent and in 2015, she woke with a British one.

Myers suffers from a condition known as Foreign Accent Syndrome that causes a sudden change in speech.

For those thinking Myers could be faking her condition, she told ABC-15, “Who would do this for attention? I don’t know”

The syndrome is usually caused by brain damage after an individual has suffered a stroke or psychological experience.

At this time, less than 100 people have ever been diagnosed with having FAS.
