UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — A Japanese elementary school plans to introduce Armani suits as its new school uniform.

The high-end fashion uniform will cost parents more than 80,000 yen, which is the equivalent of more than $700 and if all goes to plan, the school kids will be suited and booted in Armani by April.

Armani’s head office is located in Ginza, Tokyo, right around the corner from Taimei Elementary School.

According to the Huffington Post, the school sent out a letter last year saying the new uniform would create, “an atmosphere suitable for such a school”. Some parents at the school, however, are now protesting against the change in uniform; saying it is too expensive.

Last week, the situation was discussed in parliament and government education officials concluded school principals should be free to set their own school rules.

However, parents should also be included in decision making.
