UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Two tourists recently landed themselves in hot water after posing for pictures on a coral reef in Thailand.

The incident happened in Mu Koh Surin National Park.

The pictures were first posted by a travel blog known as Vacation On Sea.

The caption said, “I’m sitting on a rock, not coral reefs.”

Marine biologists, however, quickly called the women out, saying they were clearly perched on a reef.

Making contact with coral can severely damage it.

Vacation on Sea later released a statement apologizing.

It said, “We didn’t know any better. We’re sorry, and we won’t do it again.

The park officials have disciplined and fined us.”

The women were fine 1,500 baht or about $50 each.
