UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — The fast-food chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken, is returning to its previous supplier after facing menu shortages in U.K. restaurants.
Reuters reports, March 8, KFC is rehiring Bidvest Logistics for up to 350 of its restaurants.
KFC noted it will still work with its current supplier DHL, on the remaining restaurants in the U.K. and Ireland.
Bidvest Business Unit Director, Paul Whyte, said the company was delighted to resume its partnership and said, “we will provide them with a seamless return to our network.”
The announcement comes after hundreds of KFC restaurants closed in February due to a chicken shortage.
During the shortage, DHL blamed operational issues at a warehouse in Rugby, for the problems.
Currently, 97 percent of KFC restaurants are open in the U.K. but some are still serving limited menus.
