UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Three package explosions in 10 days have left two dead and two injured in Austin, Texas.
Police Chief Brian Manley is now warning Austin residents to be vigilant. “If you find any suspicious packages on your front porch, at your residence, do not handle them. But instead, call 911,” he said.
The two latest incidents occurred Monday, March 12.
Shortly before 7 a.m., an explosion killed a 17-year-old boy and injured an adult woman after they brought a package inside their home and opened it.
Hours later, another package exploded when a 75-year-old woman walked outside her home to grab it. She’s now hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Neither package appears to have arrived through a legitimate delivery service. But both cases may be connected to a similar package explosion that killed an Austin man on March 2.
Chief Manley, meanwhile, is imploring anyone with information on the attacks to come forward.
