UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Philippine Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno once again rejected calls for her resignation.

A House of Representatives panel on March 8 said it found probable cause to impeach Sereno.

Sereno is accused of failing to declare her wealth years before she was appointed in office, and of abusing privileges as Chief Justice.

On March 12, several Philippine judges and court employees urged Sereno during a flag-raising ceremony to make the “supreme sacrifice” and resign.

But Sereno says she’s not quitting, “I am determined to wage ’til the logical end this battle started by those who seek to undermine the constitution and the judiciary.”

Sereno has opposed several proposals by President Rodrigo Duterte, including the extension of Martial Law in Mindanao.

Duterte previously accused Sereno of being used by those who want to throw him out of power but denied he had anything to do in the impeachment case against her.
