UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — A plane carrying 11 people including a Turkish heiress and her bachelorette party crashed in Iran, killing everyone on board.
Mina Başaran, the daughter of Turkish billionaire Huseyin Başaran, was returning to Istanbul from her bachelorette party in Dubai with seven of her friends.
A social media personality with over 60,000 followers on Instagram, Başaran posted pictures of her friends and the crew just before take-off.
The 28-year-old Başaran was also on the board of her father’s company and was reportedly being groomed as his successor.
According to flight-tracking website FlightRadar24, their plane quickly gained altitude before dropping over 3,000 meters and crashing in Iran on March 11.
Iran’s aviation administration said the pilot requested flying lower due to a technical problem.
The bodies of all 11 victims and the plane’s black box have been recovered, which may give some insight as to the cause of the crash.
