UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — “A Quiet Place” apparently resonates with moviegoers.
The John Krasinski-directed thriller raked in over $50 million in its debut weekend at the North American box office.
Krasinski and Emily Blunt star as heads of a frightened family that can’t make a sound because, as the tag line says, “If they hear you, they’ll hunt you.”
And the stars — who are married both on screen and off — have been drawing rave reviews.
Fellow Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Chris Pratt couldn’t contain their excitement on Twitter.
On April 8, Pratt implored people to stop what they’re doing and go see it.
“A Quiet Place” may have crept up on the top spot at the domestic box office, but there’s one movie making even more noise overseas.
The virtual universe of “Ready Player One” has grossed almost $400 million worldwide in just a few short weeks.
