UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — A Mexican rapper has confessed to dissolving the bodies of three missing film students in acid.
According to investigators, the Jalisco New Generation Drug Cartel ordered rapper Christian Palma Gutiérrez to dispose of the bodies.
Gutiérrez reportedly works for the cartel and told investigators he had disposed of bodies with acid before.
The cartel is known as one of Mexico’s most powerful gangs.
The victims, all in their twenties, were filming a class project during spring break. When their car broke down, however, they were kidnapped by armed men disguised as police and their genetic remains were later found on a farm.
In a statement on Monday, April 23, authorities said they think the kidnappers confused the students for rival gang members.
As of Thursday, Gutiérrez and one other suspect have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of the three film students.
Investigators, however, are still looking for more suspects.
