UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) —A man previously convicted of stalking Academy Award-winning actress Sandra Bullock, committed suicide early Wednesday morning, May 2.

After a five-hour stand-off with the Los Angeles Police Department, Joshua James Corbett, 42, died of an apparent self-inflicted wound, officials said.

Corbett had barricaded himself in his La Crescenta, California, home, after police tried to serve a warrant for a probation violation.

In June 2014, Corbett jumped a fence to access the Miss Congeniality star’s Hollywood Hills mansion.

Bullock, mother of two children, was home alone at the time.

She ran into her bedroom closet and called 911.

Officers arrived and arrested Corbett, who had a notebook that authorities said exhibited stalking, obsessive and fixated behavior.

Corbett received five years’ probation in a plea deal, as well as a 10-year protective order against him.

He was required to seek continued treatment at a mental health facility.
