UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Los Angeles County prosecutors charged a man for allegedly trying to extort money from actor/comedian Kevin Hart.
Jonathan Jackson, 41 years old, is in custody on $100,000 bail.
Jail records show he was arrested on Monday,
Prosecutors said Jackson attempted to extort Hart last year.
He then tried to sell video of Hart with a woman in a hotel room to celebrity news sites.
Hart apologized to his wife and kids in the past after it was revealed he cheated on her with the woman in the video.
The woman, Montia Sabbag, is reported to have cooperated with police when the investigation against Jackson began.
Hart tweeted about the charges being announced, stating he is in disbelief.
According to TMZ, Jackson and Hart were friends for more than 15 years and did work together.
