The red carpet rolled out for this year’s Cannes Film Festival opening night.
Celebrities gathered for power couple Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem’s new thriller, “Everybody Knows,” on May 8.
People on the film festival’s jury also posed for photos, including actresses Cate Blanchett, Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart.
The panel also includes directors Denis Villeneuve and Ava DuVernay.
People working the red carpet made sure the walkway stayed selfie-free.
The festival announced earlier this year that people who take them will not be allowed to see the film.
However, stars are allowed to step up to security fences and take photos with fans if they choose.
Cannes is facing criticism for the low number of female filmmakers being judged.
But juror Blanchett said the panel promises to choose the films “collectively” and decided who will walk away with the top prize, the Palme d’Or.
