UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — The billionaire head of Tesla and Space X says another of his business ventures is entering the brick-making business.

Elon Musk said on Twitter his Boring Company will “be using dirt from tunnel digging to create bricks for low cost housing.”

Bloomberg confirms the plans to use excavated muck to make bricks are real.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s realistic to use those bricks to build low-cost homes.

UCLA lecturer Juan Matute tells Bloomberg Musk’s tweet incorrectly assumes that construction materials easily replaced by bricks are what’s driving housing costs.

Musk offered his idea May 7, in response to a snarky tweet questioning his business endeavors.

Less than a week earlier, he mocked Wall Street analysts’ questions as “boring” during a Tesla earnings call.

Then on Saturday, Musk said he was “super super serious” about starting a candy company, amid his tweetstorm about one of billionaire Warren Buffett’s investment principles.
