UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — The Prince Estate says a new album of unreleased Prince material will be available to buy this year.

The album, titled “Piano & A Microphone 1983,” will follow a similar format to Prince’s “Piano & A Microphone Tour” that he ended his career with.

In a statement on June 7, on what would have been the singer’s 60th birthday, the Prince Estate and Warner Bros. said the album will be nine tracks long and will include a previously unheard home studio cassette recording of Prince performing at his piano in 1983.

It will also include early versions of “Purple Rain,” “17 Days,” “Strange Relationship” and “International Lover,” as well as a Joni Mitchell cover.

It is available to pre-order now and will officially be released on September 21.

The Prince Estate also plans to release another new album of the artist’s material next year, as part of a deal with Tidal.
