UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — American celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has died at the age of 61.

According to a CNN report on June 8, he was found unresponsive in a hotel room in France, where he was working on a CNN travel series.

Bourdain reportedly traveled more than 250 days of the year filming the show.

According to AFP news agency, authorities do not suspect foul play. CNN reported it was death by hanging.

Bourdain worked for CNN for five years and in an email to employees, the network’s president remembered him as an “exceptional talent.”

His death comes days after the suicide of American fashion designer Kate Spade and one day after U.S. government health officials said the suicide rate has risen by 30 percent in half of states since 1999.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said almost no group is exempt from the rise in suicide rates.
