UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) – Philippine authorities reportedly identified five suspects in connection with the alleged murder of Richmond Nilo; a Filipino priest who was shot dead in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija Sunday, June 10.
The police said on Wednesday CCTV footage shows three suspects on motorcycles riding near the barangay chapel of Mayamot, around the time of the killing.
The priest was killed inside the chapel before mass on Sunday.
According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, footage from other surveillance cameras also shows two suspects in an alleged getaway vehicle.
Police, however, have not confirmed a motive.
Nilo is the third Catholic priest to be murdered in the last six months: Marcelito Paez died in December and Mark Ventura died in April.
Earlier this week, however, the head of Philippine National Police said Nilo’s death is an isolated case.
