UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Netflix is set to spook audiences with a “first in class, edge-of-your-seat horror series” called “Ghoul.”

This will be the streaming giant’s first venture into the horror genre in India.

The series “Ghoul” is based on Arabic folklore and follows an interrogator at a remote military prison where it is discovered some of the prisoners held there are not of this world.

The three-episode series directed and written by Patrick Graham is set to premiere worldwide August 24.

Netflix teamed up with Phantom Films, Blumhouse Productions and Ivanhoe Pictures to produce the series in both English and Hindi.

In 2014, the three production companies joined together in a multi-year partnership to create and produce local-language genre films in India.

Manav Kaul and Radhika Apte from Phantom Films recently released crime drama “Sacred Games” will star in the horror series.
