United News International (UNI)- Motorcycling daredevil Travis Pastrana defied death and gravity July 8 as he beat three of late stuntman Evel Knievel’s records in a row in Las Vegas.

No stranger to dangerous stunts, Pastrana successfully landed three jumps consisting of 52 cars, 16 buses and the fountain at Caesars Palace.

Most notable is the fountain jump, which Knievel himself failed in 1967 resulting in several broken bones and a serious concussion.

Pastrana arrived in Evel Knievel’s signature red, white and blue getup to honor him during the event.

He also attempted his first jump alongside red, white and blue pyrotechnics.

Pastrana joked after landing the first jump, “I think the hardest part was getting the whole costume on.”

His previous feats include skydiving without a parachute and landing the first ever double backflip in the 2006 X Games.
