UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Connecticut police have been investigating an incident in which a woman injured herself from a razor blade attached to a Walmart cart.

Kelly Boulay said she cut her finger from the blade hidden underneath the handle of her cart at East Windsor Walmart store on Sunday, July 8.

Boulay immediately sought medical attention and reported the incident to East Windsor police.

The officers who responded found the cart with the blade. They then searched all the other shopping carts but did not find any other razor blades.

Police believe the blade was intentionally placed in the cart.

The incident has worried shoppers and caused quite a stir on social media after the woman posted photos of her finger.

A Walmart spokesperson, meanwhile said the staff has been instructed to do regular checks on shopping carts.
