UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Fans of “Indiana Jones” will have to wait a year longer to see Harrison Ford reprise his famous role.

Disney announced on Tuesday, July 10, that the fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise will now be pushed back to summer 2021.

This is the second major delay, reportedly due to script issues, for the project.

Two weeks ago, Jonathan Kasdan was brought on to rewrite the screenplay for “Indiana Jones 5” after the original writer left the project.

Kasdan’s father Lawrence wrote the screenplay for the first installment.

Steven Spielberg is set to direct the fifth and final installment of the adventure series.

Its new release date is slated for July 9, 2021.

Ford will turn 79 just a few days before the movie’s new release.

Audiences were first introduced to Ford’s “Indiana Jones” character in the 1981 classic “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
