UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) – Members of the New People’s Army allegedly shot and killed a former soldier in front of his family over the weekend.
A spokesperson for North Cotabato police said on July 9, Dominador Favian died of multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body at his home in Magpet.
He was reportedly asleep with his family when around 15 NPA rebels barged into his home and ordered his wife and children to lie face down on the ground.
The police said the rebels were looking for Favian because he was suspected of keeping firearms at home. According to his wife, however, no firearms were found.
The NPA has not commented on the killing.
The attack comes less than a week after the army allegedly killed three NPA rebels in a clash in another village nearby.
