United News International (UNI)- Former Seattle Seahawks player Brandon Browner was arrested Tuesday, July 10 on four felony charges for attempting to kill his ex-girlfriend in La Verne, California.
Prosecutors said Browner allegedly broke into her house Sunday night and threatened to kill her, reportedly smothering her in the carpet.
She filed restraining order against Browner following a previous domestic violence incident.
Browner fled the scene of the crime with a Rolex watch worth about $20,000 and was arrested hours later.
The football player is being held on a $10 million bond.
He is facing four charges including felony burglary, attempted murder, burglary and false imprisonment, and two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to a child.
The child cruelty counts come from reports that his ex-girlfriend’s children witnessed the attempted murder.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Browner faces a maximum sentencing of life in prison if convicted.
