UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL (UNI) — Are you planning on that dream vacation? You might want to consider Southeast Asia.

Five islands in that region made it on Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Islands for 2018.

The New York-based magazine made the list based on votes from its readers.

Palawan, an all-time favorite Philippine island, is ranked sixth on the list.

Palawan boasts pristine islets and crystal clear lagoons making it a top destination for diving.

Making a comeback from 2016 is another Philippine island, Cebu.

Tourists flock to Cebu for the fun and colorful Sinulog Festival and a taste of its famous Lechon or roasted pig.

But the best of the best is Java Island in Indonesia.

Travel + Leisure says Java is a great mix of natural landscapes, ancient heritage and “modernity.”

Two other Indonesian islands, Bali and Lombok ranked No. 2 and No. 3 respectively.
