UNITED NEWS INTERNATIONAL — An investigation into a 2013 fatal plane crash in Tennessee reveals the pilot had written multiple letters to singer Taylor Swift.
WSMV-TV got a hold of the internal records from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) through a Freedom of Information Act request, and they released the information August 6.
The investigation concluded the 45-year-old Canadian pilot and sole occupant of the plane Michael Callan was legally drunk at the time of the crash.
Investigators questioned why he circled the Nashville International Airport for nearly two hours in tricky fog conditions.
The NTSB report says he’d written several letters to Swift with a “flavor of stalking” and underwent a mental health evaluation the year prior.
Callan rented the plane from Windsor Flying Club where he listed Swift as his emergency contact on the membership application.
Media in Canada report he allegedly was a bank robber long before his fatal crash.
